Back in a theater specially designed for the first permanent show in the Middle East directed by Franco Dragone, whom we rejoined for a totally immersive visual experience.
It is in a venue with a unique and organic aspect, imagined by Jean Rabasse, that we bring history, the artists and the audience on a journey through video projections covering almost every centimeter of the room: floor, back wall in the distance, and the different strata composing the walls surrounding the public.
A dreamlike and architectural content, a real indoor architectural mapping, worked in trompe l’oeil evoking, from afar or near, a past, present or future vision of Dubai.
In addition to the video content supporting the stage performances, Franco Dragone asked us to produce a 3-minute sequence telling the story of the Pearl of Origins (our Earth) using all the surfaces and special effects available (smoke, laser, water… ). A complex and unique creation, with millions of pixels that required 6 months of work.

THE GIANT PUPPET
PHOTOGRAMMETRY
Photogrammetry was used to create the 3d model of the physical giant puppet designed by the DRAGONE teams.
MOTION CAPTURE
The 3D Puppet model was animated with a blend of motion capture and classic keyframe animation.
THE OPENING SEQUENCE
FROM THE PEARL OF THE ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT DAY
A real indoor 360° architectural mapping telling the Story of the Life in our Universe.
INDOOR ARCHITECTURAL MAPPING
In addition of the whole content creation for the show, Drop The Spoon had to write and create an immersive 3’30” full animated opening sequence using all the surfaces of the theatre.
PREVIZ
Preproduction was done in DTS offices and previsualized in VR on the VYV Photon media server.
