TRICK OR TREAT : an original Halloween “burlesque” mapping written and created for the poetic and extraordinary Pairi Daiza Park and its garden of worlds.
Legend has it that a huge treasure is buried in a well-guarded room in the castle at the heart of Pairi Daiza.
This treasure, a gargantuan pumpkin bewitched and overflowing with treats collected by the animals of the park, would be accessible only by a simple door opening only once a year, on Halloween.
But which door is it ? , the castle is full of them!
Danger! Danger, to anyone who tries to break through them. Most of them are guarded by the mischievous treasure-stealing skeletons. Clumsy impostors, pretending to be resident animals of the park, whose objective would be none other than to be the first to seize the legendary treasure of sweets.
They will use every trick in the book to scare and dissuade anyone with a pure soul from touching the pumpkin, the only condition to access its magical contents.
But will the chosen one succeed, and if so, who will it be?

MAKING OF
ORIGINAL DRAWINGS
In order to bluff us, the skeletons have created original animal masks to go unnoticed during their search for the hidden treasure.
MOTION CAPTURE
Weta had Andy Serkis to give life to Gollum (LOTR), … We had Pierre, our 3D Lead.
Thanks to a light portable Mocap system, in the corridors of our old offices and with the objects at our disposal, Pierre gave life to about fifteen crazy skeletons.

In order to check the rhythm and some details, the content of the mapping was projected on a house-made replica of the castle in 3D printing based on the model used to create the canvas.
